This interactive seminar explores possibly the most important aspect of caring for anyone with dementia: REAL communication. Biography

Sarah founded social enterprise Many Happy Returns in 2008 after caring for her mother, who had Alzheimer’s disease.
Many Happy Returns Chatterbox cards Winner, Best Activity, Home Care Awards 2019.
She designed and published 1940s and 1950s conversation cards that make intergenerational connecting fun, through people’s life stories. Over 10,000 sets can be found in care settings and family homes across the country.
REAL Communication Gold Award, 2014 Performance Learning Awards.
Interactive REAL Communication workshops help people to improve their dementia communication skills in the care of older people with dementia, also delivered through SCIE (Social Care Institute for Excellence), University teaching hospitals, CCGs and local authorities.

Sarah conceived and produced the 2012 Big Care Home Conversation and is a facilitator for the organisation’s Leadership Support programme for care home managers.
