Since 2009, The Daily Sparkle has proven to be a highly effective resource in care settings, having been used in over 5,000 care homes, hospitals and day centres. With an estimated readership of over 100,000 every day, and with hundreds of testimonials from grateful residents and staff, it is clear that The Sparkles work. In both the original printed versions and the new digital versions, The Daily Sparkle features an ever-changing range of nostalgia topics - any one issue can cover such a range of things as old cars, buying stockings, the launch of Concorde, pleated skirts, household chores, music from the 1940s and playing bridge. Our newspapers are compiled by our dedicated team of writers, all of whom are in their 70s, and every day each newspaper provides simple, easy starting points for conversation, as well as offering activities, music downloads, quizzes and puzzles to help ensure those with dementia have stimulating, enjoyable and fun daily lives. Crucially, the newspapers get people talking, help them build relationships, make friends and provide them with happy memories every single day. As a social enterprise we plough everything we make back into the company, and are always trying to add to our offering, without raising our prices. The monthly subscription fee for The Daily Sparkle has been the same for ten years, despite numerous extra features and resources being added all the time. If we can offer something extra, without charging for it, we will.
