ProVantage Procurement Ltd Stand Number: D616 Helping Care customers redirect running costs to front line activities ProVantage Procurement was started in 2013 by Peter Roberts having identified gaps in direct Procurement expertise within the Care and Third Sector - something suppliers were using to their advantage. Rather than focus on large corporate companies our preference has always been to look to support Care Homes, Hospices and Third Sector organisations and help them reduce their day-to-day operating and running costs, enabling them to redirect budgets to their front-line activities. Our experience shows that for most customers there are always significant opportunities waiting to be unlocked and savings to be made, but these get missed usually through a lack of resource or relevant expertise. Particularly in the Care sector the spend focus tends quite rightly to be on the provision of the care - the facilities offered, and in particular, the quality of staff. The effect of this though is that often the not insignificant day to day costs incurred in just keeping the business running don`t get the attention they could or should, and are higher as a result. This ties up finances that could otherwise go directly to your own customer experience. Our approach to `Value Add` through Cost Reduction is to work with your key stakeholders and decision makers to provide those resources for you to see those savings embedded. The savings we make are always measurable - and sustainable. As a broad-brush overview normally around 30% - 50% of any organisation`s overall spend would be something we would expect to be able to influence, (the rest being salaries, rent, rates and so on). Historically we`d look to reduce the bottom line on these spend areas by 15 - 20% as a minimum, plus improving the associated costs around payment terms, contract management, support, upgrades, deliveries etc. Areas most commonly requested for support are around the `Indirect` costs; insurance, vehicles, IT, FM, telephony, print, utilities, Renewable Energy and so on and we are currently running at a total of around £4M bottom line savings for our Care customers. Renewable energy in particular is being heavily incentivised by Ofgem and is a natural fit for Care Homes - we have a group of homes making a clear guaranteed profit of £2.8M from the government scheme. Any tenders & negotiations we undertake for customers are bespoke - we don`t use `off the shelf` contracts but work with each customer independently to create bespoke Agreements that fit their needs specifically. To ensure the savings are delivered the small savings-share method we apply comes only after they have been agreed and realised by the customer and are spread over the Contract life. Most consultancy companies will capitalise the savings at the front end and leave the customer to it - if our customer wants we will stay with the contract to ensure the supplier delivers as required throughout - thus if the customer doesn`t realise the savings projected we wouldn`t make anything to cover our own costs.
