No Slowing Down for Care

The Green Paper is currently the most anticipated document in the care industry, it will lay out the plans for a long term and sustainable care plan. Given the uncertainty that the future will possess - staffing issues, funding, training, etc. - much needed guidance from the government will allow care home and business owners to begin laying the groundwork needed to become a sustainable business model.

Donna Briggs, Managing Director of the Springhill Care Group, made waves in the news recently by speaking out against the delay and also raising the importance of quality training within the care industry. ‘“Developing the skills of our workforce is crucial...we need to understand what we are dealing with for the future.”

Even with the delay of the Green Paper there can be no slowing down for care home owners and home care business owners as they look to adapt to the changes that will be demanded in the coming years. From the need to grow business to meet the demand of an aging population, as well as Brexit bringing a deficit of care workers, and the strive to continuously deliver outstanding care, there is lots for senior management to think about and manage.

Finding solutions whilst running a social care business can be difficult, which is why attending events such as the Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo are so essential. With 5,500 care home owners and home care business owners will be attending, this will be the event to grow your business, and where everything needed to deliver outstanding care will be found, with a deep focus on workforce development.
