‘Project Ragnarok’- a revolutionary automated end to end employee life cycle, with fully optimised rostering.

‘Project Ragnarok’ is a project in partnership between Orchard Care Homes and Civica.

It is an end-to-end employee life cycle with a fully optimised rostering solution, including integration into payroll. Using Civica’s eManager system, Rachel designed the fully integrated ‘EER’ Electronic Employee Record, capturing staff data in one place, using system automation and workflow. The eRoster was enhanced to allow fully optimised flexible rostering, based on resident dependency.


Biography

Rachel Smith has been an employee at Orchard Care Homes for six years. Starting her career as a HR Admin she has now progressed to Head of Business Systems & Management Information. Prior to working in Social Care, Rachel was an Apprentice in the NHS, which gave her valuable experience and passion for the sector.

Whilst working in the HR Department at Orchard Care Homes, Rachel recognised that the department was heavily dependent on manual processes, and that this presented opportunities for time and cost savings.
Rachel sought ways to realise these savings using systems and automation, which led to Project Ragnarok being born. Thanks to her passion for systems, automation and data, Rachel has been able to make her ideas a reality.
