Dr Ron Daniels: Speaking at the Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo Birmingham

UK Sepsis Trust

Dr Ron Daniels

The changing face of sepsis

Sepsis is a prevalent, indiscriminate condition which preferentially affects people at the extremes of age. It is a complex syndromic response to infection, and can be particularly difficult to identify in people with impaired communication. Early escalation and delivery of basic care elements is effective in saving life and returning the patient to function, and such interventions can remain appropriate in people with life-limiting illness and advance directives. This session will update the attendee on changes to global and national definitions and guidelines for care, and equip them with the knowledge with which to act.
