Professor Graham Stokes is HC-One’s Director of Memory Care a leading care provider in the UK. He delivers strategy and policy for person-centred care across care homes in the UK. With 30 years-experience in the health and social care industry, Professor Stokes is recognised as a leader in dementia care. A clinical psychologist by training, he has been instrumental in the shaping and communication of person-centred dementia care. In addition to his leading role at HC-One, Professor Stokes has been the Honorary Visiting Professor of Person-Centred Dementia Care at the University of Bradford since 2012. He is also a Board member of the Dementia Action Alliance (England). Professor Stokes’ career highlights also include chairing the Mental Health Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s Dementia Truth Inquiry, being a key member of the External Reference Group which drafted the Government’s Five Year National Dementia Strategy, and sitting on the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia Design and Implementation Group for the 2012 and 2020 strategies. He was also invited to be a representative at The G7 Global Dementia Legacy Event in Tokyo to discuss Innovative Care and Prevention Models.
